 The Noble County Fairboard is hosting The Scott Mackie Memorial
Banjo and Fiddle Contest this year at the fair.The contest will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2008 on the Midway stage at noon, with sign up beginning at 11:00 a.m. Winners of the contest will be awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies for each category. The contestant may have one accompaniant. Scott Mackie, a familiar face at the fair every year, has promoted and supported music in and around Noble County for many years. He not only spent his life encouraging his own children and grandchildren to do their best to develop their talent, he also encouraged and supported many others in the industry. Scott passed away unexpectedly in August of last year. To honor his legacy and love for music, his family, better known as the Buckeye Travelers Band, is sponsoring the contest in his memory.
